Niki Athanasiadou (MSc, RDN, CDN) is a clinical dietitian trained in New York, USA. She graduated from New York University (MSc in Clinical Nutrition) in 2010 and afterwards worked as a professional dietitian in New York for three years.

She specializes in medical nutrition therapy (MNT) before and throughout pregnancy, during lactation and in cases like cardiovascular disease, diabetes (type 1, 2 & gestational diabetes), all types of hyperlipidemia, gastrointestinal disorders and gerontology.

Upon her return in Greece in 2013, she worked as head dietitian of the municipality of Pylaia-Chortiatis in Thessaloniki, where she oversaw 9 dietitians and a total of 200 clients. Is was an interventional nutrition program, aimed to provide nutrition education and consultation to people with diabetes, hyperlipidemias, cardiovascular disease and obesity. The program provided free individual nutrition consultations and group speeches in related topics.

In 2014, she started her own private practice, Food Method, a nutrition center focused in individual nutrition consulting as well as corporate nutrition and collaborations with restaurants and food companies for the creation of healthier food options. From 2015 to 2017, she was a guest lecturer for the master’ s degree in Nutrition & Dietetics (MSc in Nutrition & Dietetics) at the Department of Nutrition & Dietetics of the Alexandrio Technological Institute in Thessaloniki.

During her stay in New York City, she worked as a clinical dietitian in New York Methodist Hospital (affiliated with Weil Cornell Medical College), as a senior clinical dietitian in Regal Heights Rehabilitation and Health Center, as an associate dietitian in Dr. Sterns “Blue Sleep” center, where she consulted clients suffering from sleep apnea and as an associate dietitian in “Wellness Corporate Solutions”, focused in workplace health and nutrition programs. She was an active contributor in the nutrition community and was registered at the Nutrition & Dietetics Association as well as the PR committee of the Greater New York Dietetic Association.

She is the coauthor of studies published in significant scientific journals, such as the International Journal of Obesity and Nutrients.
